What are the Type of Visas that South Korea will Resume to Issue this 2022?

Finally, after 2 years of suspending issuance of new visa applications due to pandemic, South korea is now opening its door to visitors. Starting June 1, 2022, the government will resume to issue visas to new applicants. According to the justice ministry, South Korea needs to "boost domestic consumption and invigorate related industries". The country has also lifted most of COVID-19 related restrictions like wearing of mask in the public and social distancing.

The following are the type of visas that the government will resume to issue starting June 1:

1. C-3 Visa

This type of visa are for those foreigners who want to enter the country for the purpose of tourism, transit, visiting relatives or similar reasons and to stay in South Korea for up to 90 days.

2. e-Visa

This type of visa are for foreigners with excellent talent or group tourists.

In the past 2 years, short term visa has only been issued for the purpose of diplomacy, government affairs, or other kinds of humanitarian reasons.

So if you have planned to visit South Korea, now is the time to push it through. Prepare your passports now and other Korean Visa requirements. Who knows, you might be spending autumn season in South korea, or maybe winter if you prefer it cold. Spring 2023 can wait too.
