5 Fun Activities You Can Do At Lake Sebu

If there's one place the province of South Cotabato in Mindanao is proud of, it should be Lake Sebu. While I believe that there are a lot of touristy places in South Cotabato area, Lake Sebu stands out because 1.) It's the most famous tourist spot and 2.) There are a lot of fun activities you can do here.

Although the main attractions of Lake Sebu are the lakes and the amazing 7 waterfalls, there are even more fun and exciting activities you can do here. Depending on your travel preferences, you can go as chill as viewing Lake Sebu, Lake Lahit and Lake Siloton to as extreme as riding a zipline to see 5 out of 7 waterfalls. There are actually a lot of things you can do at Lake Sebu, but here are 5 out of many activities to help you with your itinerary.

1. Wear a T'boli Costume

For all the culture vultures out there, this is definitely a must do when you are in Lake Sebu since the town is home to the indigenous T’boli and Ubo tribes. Experience how it feels like to be one of the tribe for a moment by wearing their costumes. It's actually a good way to immerse yourself with their culture and enjoy it at the same time. You can do this activity at the viewing deck at Falls #2.

2. Food trip with the different Tilapia Dishes

For the gastronomes out there, you must experience a culinary trip with different tilapia recipes. Name a Filipino dish and they have a tilapia version at lake Sebu. Adobo, Sinigang, tinola and even chicharon. Tilapia dishes are available for you to try and enjoy. There are a lot of good restaurants in Lake Sebu that offer tilapia dishes, but I would definitely recommend the floating restaurant of Punta Isla Resort. For more information about Punta Isla, you can go visit their Facebook Page by CLICKING HERE.

3. Ride the zipline

For the extreme adventure lovers, you can try one of the tallest ziplines in Asia, the 7 Falls Zipline. Installed at a location 180 meters above the ground, the zipline is divided into two parts. The first part measures 740 meters, and the second part measures 420 meters. Riding the zipline is like riding a roller coaster, you just have to decide though if you will feel scared with a 20meters per second speed of a zipline or feel mesmerized by the view of trees and waterfalls from up there. To experience the 7 FALLS Zipline, go to Falls # 1.

4. Go Tilapia Fishing

For fishing hobbyists, this activity is for you guys. Why not go get your fishing rod, take a boat and go fishing in the lake? Tilapia is the major product in Lake Sebu, so expect you'll get tons of tilapia of different varieties. The catch? You will have to pay for the tilapia fishes you caught. The best way to do Tilapia fishing is at Sunrise Garden Lake Resort. Contact them through their FB page, just CLICK HERE.

5. Visit the Seven Falls

And for the nature lovers, the view of the seven falls amazingly falling from a considerable height would surely entice you. Some of the falls can be accessed via motorcycle, but some may require some sort of trekking. But it's ok, you are not required to visit all seven falls. If you will take the 7 Falls zipline, you can already see 5 out of the seven falls. Now go write in your bucket list to see all 7 falls namely Hikong Alo, Hikong Bente, Hikong B’Lebel, Hikong Lowig, Hikong Ukol, Hikong K’Fo-I and Hikong Tonok.

So there you go everyone, next time you plan to visit Lake Sebu, you know what to do!
